NON-ACCREDITED ENTERNAL FEEDING AND MANAGEMENT COURSE
The Enternal Feeding and Management (PEG Feeding) course is designed for those working in the disability care setting and has been mapped to the NDIS Practice Standards – Skills Descriptors. PEG stands for percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy, a procedure in which a flexible feeding tube is placed through the abdominal wall and into the stomach. PEG allows nutrition, fluids and/or medications to be put directly into the stomach, bypassing the mouth and esophagus. PEG feeding is used where patients cannot maintain adequate nutrition with oral intake.
